Organized in 1998, the Society sponsors programs that depict Italian culture including: the Italian language, visual and performing arts, films, travel, literature and history, as well as social events such as luncheons and dinners with featured speakers and Italian entertainers. The Society currently has over 600 members who participate in the programs which highlight various aspects of Italian culture from its historical origins to contemporary Italian life.

Of special interest the Society has financially sponsored together with ODLI, an arm of the Italian Foreign Ministry, an Italian language program at Laurel Oaks Elementary School for the last four years. We and ODLI are now planning to have the program continued into the middle school.

These first ten years of our existence have gone by rapidly. We are looking forward to the next ten years and the challenges and opportunities that we will seize and conquer in our mission to continually bring aspects of Italian culture to our community for their enjoyment and enlightenment. On this web site, you will find information about currently planned events, reference to our current board of directors, and more information about ICS in the newletter “Amici”.
