If you’ve ever wanted to immerse yourself in the culture of opera, now is your opportunity. Enjoy one of Sicily's own, Bellini’s "I Puritani," Live at the Met, in the comfort of Paragon-Pavilion theater in Naples, for a private showing for ICS members and guests. In addition to being a wonderful musical experience, it will be an educational one as well.
Doors open at 11 a.m. for ticket purchase the day of the event. There are 75 seats plus 5 wheelchair spaces. All seats recline. Food and beverages can be purchased in the lobby. In the $20 seats food can be ordered from and delivered to your seat. For $16 you carry it in. The performance lasts 3.5 hours with one intermission beginning at 1 p.m. At 12:15 Dr. Tom Cimarusti, renowned Italian classical music expert, will provide an introduction.
Click on the register button if you plan to attend. This will help us determine interest. Note that this neither purchases a ticket nor reserves a seat. That is done the day of the event at the box office.
His premature death—just as he was achieving international success and expanding in new musical directions—is one of the most unfortunate in the history of music. The librettist, Count Carlo Pepoli (1796–1881), was an Italian political exile living among the seething expatriate circles of Paris. For the libretto, Pepoli adapted the play Têtes Rondes et Cavaliers by Jacques-François Ancelot (1794–1854) and X. B. Saintine (1798–1865).
